Frankie's Heart is Broken

This is a recording from my call to Frankie last night.

Shaun, hearing this makes me thank all the good things in the world for your amazing family being there to support you when you came out... Dear Frankie is clearly trying so hard to do the right thing, but it sounds as if the whole world is against him putting himself back on track. I hope he finds the strength to get through all this - he has always sounded to be so strong in every way and it's incredibly sad to hear the pain in his voice... Wishing him the resilience and clarity of mind to keep it together. What an amazing friend you are to him. Once again, enormous respect and love to you and yours - all your achievements in the light of all that stands in the way of ex-prisoners turning their lives around are astonishing

I was blessed to have such strong family support. Hearing the pain in Frankie's voice breaks my heart. I hope he pulls through and doesn't end up like T-Bone.

It's a crazy system where so much money is spent on keeping people in prison and none on helping them stay out.

Why help them stay out when the prison system gets $50,000 per year of taxpayers $ per prisoner? It's a business model.
